Junior defender Sydnie Green was named to the 2014 Second Team All-American Athletic Conference by CollegeSportsMadness.com this morning.
Green was a key part of the Cougars’ defense this year as she compiled 1,323 minutes on the field while playing for full-time in 13 of her 15 appearances.
Green spent her freshman year of college at the University of Missouri but after transferring to UH, Green has started 31 games with a total of 2,732 minutes played over two seasons.
“Sydnie really stepped up this season and really took control of our back line,” said head coach Chris Pfau in a statement released Monday morning.
“In conference she was one of the best players in the league. She was dominant, tough to beat and a physical presence for us in the back,” Pfau said.
