Petroleum engineer senior and student veteran Fontaine Wilson reviews the powerpoint at the VSO’s SFAC presentation.

Among past accomplishments, the VSO held its own orientation classes, in which the veteran or dependent learn about the G.I. Bill and Hazlewood benefits, as well as the UH process of their paperwork. In addition “Guitars for Vets” was established, as well as the Military and Veterans Patriot Cording Ceremony, which was held this past May. The ceremony honored veterans for completing the one transitioning part in their lives, academics.

If the BA request is approved, the VSO will be able to continue the cording program as well as the veterans’ orientation. Additionally, they would also be able to establish the Veterans Leadership and Mentorship Program, Military and Veterans Awareness, as well as the Student Veterans Academic Intervention Program.

The amount requested is not new; the total previous amount was culminated from the past three years.
