UH students will compete for the chance to design new forms of sustainable energy plans for Houston Independent School District’s Energy Institute High School. Eight UH teams consisting of a total of 40 students will be competing on Saturday for the top prize of $5,000 and the chance of having their ideas integrated in the final design of the school.
The Energy Institute High School, a new $37 million campus being built at Southmore Boulevard and Tierwester, is a magnet school that will focus on prepping students for careers in the energy industry.
The competition will start at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Energy Institute High School, located at 1808 Sampson St.
