Blaffer Art Museum transformed into a visual music box for one hour Tuesday night as part of the “Buildering: Misbehaving the City” exhibition. The performance, “021 Urban Songline,” is part of a series of visual and musical performances that utilizes public space to comment on the relationship between public space and the public.
Allard van Hoorn, shown in the last picture, was in charge of the production and is a Dutch sound, installation and performance artist that incorporates architecture, design, music, dance and theater into his productions.
The performance at Blaffer showed the dancers, equipped with flashlights, navigating the staircase and hallways of the museum that was recorded, translated into a musical score and then re-interpreted in a live performance that highlighted the impact of public space on public performance.
