Coming back from their Thanksgiving stint in Puerto Rico for the San Juan Shootout, the Cougars are eager to return home and host the Rice Owls at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Houston women’s basketball is currently 3-3 after fighting through a tough two-loss trip in San Juan, where they fell to Idaho State and No. 23 James Madison. Despite the losses, the Cougars have shown strong signs early in the season.
Junior guard Jessieka Palmer has been a strong factor for the Cougars’ offense as over the past two games she has put up 28 points. Junior forward Marche’ Amerson continues her leadership as role for the team as she totaled 20 points on the weekend as well.
The last time the Cougars meet the Owls on the court, Houston walked away with a 67-54 win. As the matchup comes to Hofheinz for Houston’s annual “Red Out” game, the Cougars are looking to improve to 4-3.
