State lawmakers, student leadership call upon external audit investigation

Two lawmakers questioned the validity of the internal audits being conducted concerning TDECU stadium, according to the Houston Chronicle.

State rep. Garnet Coleman and State Sen. Rodney Ellis –whom districts include UH- said the audits should seek outside investigation, preferably conducted by the state. Student leaders agree.

“In a situation like this, when accusations are being made against people at the highest levels of the university, it’s difficult to say an internal audit can be fair,” Student Government Association President Charles Haston said as reported by the Houston Chronicle.

“They especially hold no water if they come back clean.”

The audits will be presented to the Board of Regents on Thursday. The meeting will be commence at 3 p.m. and be held at the Ballroom located in the Student Center South.

  • Bring in the sunshine and let the chips fall where they may. Tired of queens who say let them eat cake when our tuition and fees are the highest in the state.
