The Cougars made a huge move Monday as they went from a fifth place standing at the American Athletic Championships into a tie for second place as three Cougars posted par or better.
Leading the Cougars surge into second was junior Raegan Bremer, who enters day three in seventh place after a two-under par score of 70 and an overall score of 144. Freshmen Megan Thothong and Yuka Kajiki round out the top-10 of the AAC Championships as they are tied for 10th with scores of 146, just two shots over par.
The Cougars hold a team score of 586 heading into Tuesday’s finale, as they are tied with the No. 47 SMU Mustangs and just eight strokes back from the leading No. 23 UCF Knights. The Cougars hold a one-point lead over the fourth place East Carolina Pirates, barely holding off the rest of the competition.
The Cougars will tee off on the final 18 holes on Tuesday in groups of three with the Knights and Mustangs.
