Environment brought to forefront during Earth Week

UH is bringing sustainability and the environment to the forefront during Earth Week. Hosted by the Office of Sustainability, activities will be going on all around campus to help increase awareness about growing environmental topics and concerns.

Students who complete four events during Earth Week can win a UH sustainability t-shirt, and other smaller prizes this week.

April 22

Hang out with the Metropolitan Volunteer Program and help clean up Buffalo Bayou. Sign up in advance here. Transportation and supplies will all be provided by MVP.

April 23

A movie screening of “Dirt!” will be hosted at Cemo Hall by the Gulf Coast Food Project and the Office of Sustainability, followed by a panel discussion. The movie starts at 6 p.m. with the panel starting after at 7:30 p.m.

April 24

A tree scavenger hunt at Butler Plaza hosted by the Office of Sustainability from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m will helps students learn about caring for trees as well as spreading mulch.
