UH has been selected as one of the 16 host sites for a first-round NCAA Regional.

The Cougars will host three other teams, announced during the NCAA Selection Show on Monday, from May 29-31.

The Cougars finished their season Sunday, losing to East Carolina University 9-1 in the AAC Tournament Championship game, concluding their season with a 42-18 record.

This is the third time Houston has hosted a Regional and the first time since 2000, following their strong season last year, where the Cougars made a run to a super-regional.

With the announcement, it also marks the second straight year Houston has appeared in the NCAA post-season and their 20th appearance overall.

The Cougars will be hosting a watch-party for the NCAA Selection Show on Monday at Lucky’s Pub downtown, with doors opening at 10 a.m. and the show beginning at 11 a.m.
