Jim McShan has been appointed by Chancellor and President Renu Khator as Senior Vice Chancellor and Senior Vice President of Administration and Finance after serving in an interim role for the past year.
“We’re confident he will continue to provide sound financial supervision and experienced leadership for UH and the UH System,” Khator said in an email to UH-System faculty and staff.
The email also mentioned that McShan’s appointment will depend on a vote by the Board of Regents at their next meeting on May 19 at UH-Victoria.
McShan began serving as the Interim Senior Vice Chancellor and Senior Vice President of Administration and Finance after Carl Carlucci stepped down on May 1, 2015 and transitioned to a faculty position in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences.
The Student Government Association voted unanimously, with one senator abstaining, for Carlucci’s resignation last February.
McShan started his UH career in 1995 as Director of Finance before starting as the first Vice Chancellor/Vice President for Finance. He has taken on various positions in the University’s Division of Administration and Finance since then.
