UHPD find deceased student at Calhoun Lofts

UHPD and the Houston Fire Department found the body of a UH student at Calhoun Lofts Sunday morning.

Police were contacted at 10 a.m. about a possibly deceased student, which was confirmed when they arrived on the scene.

Police do not suspect foul play or any “reason to suspect any security concerns for the community,” said Lt. Bret Collier, UHPD chief of staff.

It is not clear whether the student was a resident at Calhoun Lofts, as the student’s family chose not to release their name or information.

  • If this was another suicide, it’s time for a serious discussion on this campus about binge drinking and mental health, since both seem to have claimed at least a few lives in the last two years.

  • Wow! I not only lived there but worked there. I am shocked. It’s mostly upper classmen, grad students and teachers there. Mostly quiet so it’s no telling what happened. This has to be difficult for the parents. Definitely sad
