Student robbed of cell phone in Lynn Eusan Park

On Tuesday at 3:10 p.m., a University of Houston student reported being robbed of her cell phone by a young African American male in Lynn Eusan Park.

According to the University of Houston Police Department, the student was in the park when the first suspect approached her asking to borrow her phone. When she handed him her phone, he walked towards Parking Lot 6B to an older white Ford Taurus. The student followed him and tried to grab her phone as he got into the car, but she was pushed to the ground.

The car was driven by a second African American male, and the vehicle fled westward down Wheeler Avenue from Entrance 6. According to the UHPD, the driver of the vehicle was also in his early 20s.

The victim was treated for minor abrasions. The UHPD is actively investigating the case.
