Two male suspects attempted to rob a student of her cellphone Tuesday, UH Police Department said in a security alert that was distributed through students’ personal emails.
At 2:40 p.m., the student was walking westbound down Holman Street and was approached by two males from behind.
“At 4:01 p.m., UHPD arrested one of the two suspects and made a positive identification on the second,” UHPD said in an update. “The second suspect will also be charged in this case and an arrest is forthcoming.”
One of the suspects tried to take her phone. When he was unsuccessful, the perpetrator pushed the student and fled across Scott Street with the second male.
The student was not physically injured further.
