In an email sent out to students, UH will not serve as an early voting location.

UH was previously an early voting location last year, and strived to become a voter-friendly campus

The University will still be a voting location for Election Day at Student Center South, Space City Room from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. According to the email, if students would like to vote early, the nearest location is at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church

“Each election is unique, and voting locations are selected based on several factors, including the number of participating entities, countywide contests, expected turnout, and proximity to other vote centers. Our priority is to provide accessible voting options for all Harris County voters while maintaining fiscal responsibility,” the Harris County Clerk’s Office said. “We spoke with UH early this summer about serving as a voting location, but they were uncertain whether their construction project would be completed in time.”
