Person robbed on Metro near Wheeler

A person not affiliated with the University was robbed on a Metro Bus while in the area of 4400 Wheeler St. Thursday afternoon, according to a security alert email sent to students, faculty and staff.

The suspect is described as a black, light-skinned male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, around 150 pounds with a possible tear drop tattoo under his left eye. He was wearing a  black hoodie with white and gray writing on the front with black windbreaker pants, according to the email.

The suspect was riding the bus when he approached the complainant and pretended to have a weapon under his hoodie, demanding his cell phone. After giving him some cash, the suspect got off the bus and headed west toward Scott Street.

Metro Police is investigating the incident.
