Films, automobiles are on display this weekend

“V For Vendetta

10 p.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday, Alamo Drafthouse Mason Park or Vintage Park

“Remember, remember, the fifth of November — the Gunpowder Treason and Plot. I know of no reason why the Gunpowder Treason should ever be forgot…” It might be swell to learn this quote by heart and get a Guy Fawkes mask prior to attending this timely cinematic event that shows the strength of an idea. Attendees’ recommended age is 18 and above.

“Doctor Strange”

Check your local cinema for showtimes!

Marvel’s newest addition to its cinematic universe features Benedict Cumberbatch (of BBC’s “Sherlock” fame) as a brilliant surgeon who must embrace his destiny as the “Sorcerer Supreme” to end a mystical war.

Houston Walk to End Alzheimer’s

8 a.m., Saturday, Lynn Eusan Park

According to the event’s Facebook page, this is “the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.” You can go here to donate.

Coffee and Cars

8 to 10 a.m., Saturday, Memorial City Mall

Swerve your way around gorgeous automobiles in this spectacular weekend event. Pro tip: While precautions have been taken, you should be extra careful when watching the vehicles leave — this happened in last month’s meeting.

Pennywise

7 p.m., Saturday, House of Blues

Presented by SiriusXM’s Faction, the concert brings the hottest punk rock band from California to H-Town this weekend. Let’s show them how we rock. Get tickets here. All ages are permitted.
