Gallery: Sampson traverses campus to gain student support

Just hours away from their home opener against the Morgan State University Bears, Cougar head men’s basketball coach Kelvin Sampson embarked on a journey to recruit students to the home opener.

Sampson used his best persuasion techniques and negotiating skills to convince students who already had Friday night plans to reschedule and get to their game.

Last time on the court in an exhibition game against University of North Carolina at Pembroke, basketball dominated both sides of the ball on their way to win 94-67.

When the team opens the season Friday night, it will mark the last time a season opener will be played at Hofheinz Pavilion.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
