Senior Ebonie Floyd went out with a bang in her final race Saturday at the NCAA Championships in Sacramento, Calif. She sprinted to a third-place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 22.65 seconds.
The performance was even more impressive considering Floyd ran while battling shin splints incurred during Friday’s 100-meter final where she finished second in 11.28 seconds.
Floyd was named an All-American, joining junior Ivan Diggs who finished eighth in the high jump Friday.
Musick named All-American Houston pitcher Wes Musick, a redshirt freshman, was selected on Wednesday to the 2007 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Team.
In his first collegiate season, Musick secured his reputation at the top of the Cougar pitching staff. The southpaw finished 6-5 with a team-leading 3.00 ERA and 73 strikeouts.
