Letter from the editor: Fall semester brings rise of Features section

As your Features editor this semester, I’ll strive to fill the section with in-depth stories which have more human interest appeal than those you might read in other sections.

While covering everything from professor and student profiles, to organization activities, community events and behind-the-scenes stories, I’ll attempt to inform you of the latest and most interesting happenings around campus.

Many students at UH merely go through the motions and forget to take part in campus life, and, in most cases, it’s simply because they’re unaware of what the University has to offer.

This section is intended to cover anything that will help readers gain greater insight into what’s going on at the University.

I hope that after you read these pages you’ll have the urge to delve into student life and make the most of your time here.

Keep in mind that this section is all about you, so if you feel that something isn’t being covered or if you have a potential story idea, let me know. Are you part of a student group that’s involved with the community somehow? Is there a problem on campus you feel needs to be addressed? If so, e-mail me at [email protected], and tell me all about it.

If you’re interested in becoming a Features writer, stop by Room 151 of the Communication Building and fill out an application. Working at The Daily Cougar is a rewarding and enlightening experience you won’t soon forget.
