Campus Crime Report

The following is a partial report of campus crime between Feb. 22 through Thursday. All information is selected from the files of the UH Police Department. The information in italics indicates when the event was reported to UHPD and the event’s location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD at (713) 743-0600. Theft: 2:25 p.m., Feb. 22, M.D. Anderson Library – A student reported that someone entered an unattended and unsecure study carre and removed his personal laptop computer without his permission. There are no suspects or witnesses. Occurred between 2 and 2:15 p.m. on Feb. 22.

Disorderly Conduct/Public Intoxication: 12:33 a.m., Feb. 24, Lot 1A – A student, involved in a verbal altercation with his girlfriend, was found to be intoxicated and determined to be a danger to himself and others. The student was transported and released to the Harris County Jail. The student was issued Student and Residential Life Referrals. Occurred Feb. 24 between 12:33 and 1:02 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: 5:53 p.m., Feb. 24, Cullen Oaks Apartments – A student reported that someone kicked and damaged her attended vehicle after getting into a verbal altercation. The suspect then fled the scene and could not be found. Occurred 8:35 p.m. on Feb. 23.

Burglary of a Motor Vehicle: Tuesday, Lot 16B – A student reported that he parked his unattended and secured vehicle in Lot 16B. When he returned he found his driver’s side window shattered and that someone had searched through the vehicle. Occurred between 2:30 and 7:18 p.m. on Tuesday.

Assault: Wednesday, University Center – Three visitors were arrested for assault after being involved in a fight with a student and his girlfriend at the University Center. The three Texas Southern University students were issued Class C citations and released to TSU police. Occurred at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 27.
