Campus crime report

The following is a partial report of campus crime between Friday and Wednesday. All information is selected from the files of the UH Police Department. The information in italics indicates when the event was reported to UHPD and the event’s location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD at (713) 743-0600.

Possession of Marijuana: 12:49 p.m. Friday, Lot 4A – An officer investigated a suspicious vehicle in Lot 4A and arrested one of the occupants for possession of marijuana. The officer transported the visitor to the Harris County Jail. Occurred between 12:49 and 1:02 a.m.

Assault: 1:02 a.m. Friday, Bayou Oaks Apartments – Four students had an argument. After the verbal exchange, one student pushed the other three and threw a trashcan at them. An investigation is under way. Occurred between 1:02 and 1:05 a.m.

Theft: 11:13 a.m. Friday, Athletic/Alumni Center – UH merchandise was stolen from the Cougar Authentic store by an unknown visitor. Occurred between 11:10 and 11:15 a.m.

Disorderly Conduct: 10:17 p.m. Friday, Robertson Stadium – A visitor to a Dynamo game ignited a firework smoke bomb and threw it into the stands. Officers removed the student from the stadium and cited him for disorderly conduct. Occurred at 10:17 p.m.

Burglary of a Motor Vehicle: 6:06 p.m. Saturday, Lot 16B – Someone burglarized a students’ secured and unattended vehicle. Investigation revealed that another vehicle was burglarized in the same manner. No suspects are being investigated at this time. Occurred between 3:40 and 6 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: 4:35 a.m. Monday, Moody Towers – Aramark staff reported that the lock on the Moody Towers’ loading dock door was pried off. Another door has been tampered with. Nothing was stolen and the police have no suspects. Occurred between 10 p.m. Sunday and 4 a.m. Monday.

Traffic Offense: 8:20 p.m. Monday, Lot 19B – Someone hit a student’s unattended and secured vehicle that was parked in Lot 19B. The driver that struck her vehicle did not leave any contact information. There are no suspects. Occurred between 5:30 and 8:05 p.m.

Public Intoxication: 12:09 a.m. July 2, Lot 12A – A drunken driver parked in the moving lane of traffic in Lot 12A. After determining that the driver was a danger to himself and others, campus police gave him to the custody of Harris County Jail. Occurred at 12:08 a.m.
