Faculty Senate to have first semester session

The Faculty Senate will hold its first meeting of the fall semester today at M.D. Anderson Library, Elizabeth Rockwell Pavilion.

Faculty Senate President Wynne Chin will give a report on behalf of the University Coordinating Commission and UH Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel Dona Cornell will report on criminal background checks on campus as Michael Rierson, vice president and vice chancellor for University Advancement, will provide information on UH President and UH System Chancellor Renu Khator’s investiture gala.

Professor Joseph Kotarba will give a special report on the Coalition for Intercollegiate Athletics as the Faculty Senate aims to "promote comprehensive reform of intercollegiate sports."

Khator and UH Vice President for Research Donald Birx will also speak.

The meeting begins at 12:15 p.m. and is scheduled to end at 2:00 p.m., and open to the public.
