It’s been a while since I’ve had a Halloween costume. Last time I can remember, I think I was Robin Hood. It’s been so long since I went trick or treating with a costume. I went trick or treating without a costume plenty of times – when I was 13, 14, 15. People still give you candy, as long as you say "trick or treat." I might go to a couple Halloween parties (this year), but I might just go as a football player. It’s my best role. That’s all I know.
Anne of Green Gables conjures touching memories

I don’t know if you know about this here in America, but in Canada, there’s a girl called Anne of Green Gables. It’s a big deal (in Canada), especially on the East Coast. I loved it when I was growing up. I went to the plays and stuff like that. When I was 12 or something like that, my mom made me a full costume. It was like a pinafore, a dress with the buttons. I had the little underskirt, and I had a hat on and the orange braids.

If I could trick or treat, I would be out there getting as much candy as possible, but we’re out of town, so we don’t really get a chance to do that, (but) I would be a pumpkin. I would get orange material and drape it over my body and put a green hat on. With a smiley face, definitely – a happy one, not a scary one. I guess my favorite (when I was younger) was a hippie. It was the easiest to make. I had really big bell-bottom jeans, and me and my sister matched.

I was thinking about being a ballerina. We might be able to wear (our costumes) to practice, so that’ll be fun. I would be wearing my tutu and stuff to practice. I did have a favorite costume growing up. It was a mouse. My mom made me a mouse costume. Like a gray mouse, from the Nutcracker or something. It was pretty awesome. Some of the Brazilian girls on the team, they’ve never (been trick or treating), so we’re going to get them into that scene. We have lots of candy in our apartment, and it’s decorated.
