Offensive outburst in second half carries UH to 25-point win over North Texas

The Cougars overcame a shaky start to beat North Texas 48-23 Saturday at Apogee Stadium in Denton.

After leading 20-17 at halftime, UH (2-0) scored on its first three possessions of the second half. Quarterback Case Keenum threw two touchdown passes to receiver Justin Johnson on throws of 33 and 17 yards.

With 3:45 remaining in the third quarter Patrick Edwards caught a 46-yard pass from Keenum to make it 41-17. He capped his night off with a 21-yard swing pass to running back Michael Hayes with 13:50 left in the game.

Keenum would finish 25-of-39 for 460 yards and five touchdowns.
