UH’s 73-34 win against Rice on Thursday did not go unnoticed.

On the strength of a career-high nine touchdown performance from quarterback Case Keenum, the Cougars  jumped to No. 14 in both the AP and USA Today Top 25 polls.

Keenum also threw for 534 yards. Today he was named the  Walter Camp Football Foundation National Offensive Player of the Week.

In the Cougars win over the Owls, Keenum passed former Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell for the most touchdown passes all-time. The previous week he passed former Hawaii quarterback Timmy Chang for the most total offense in NCAA history.

Keenum leads the NCAA with 3,219 passing yards and 32 touchdowns, and is second in quarterback rating (194.1) and yards per attempt (10.6).
