The Cougars rotation was struck a blow this week.
Sophomore forward Mikhail McLean will miss the remainder of the season due to a stress fracture in his right foot.
“After all his hard work to prepare for this season, we are so disappointed for Mikhail and for our team,” head coach James Dickey said. “He is an outstanding young man, both on and off the court, and I know he will handle this challenge with courage.”
McLean played in five of the Cougars first six games, missing UH’s last match against LSU. The 6-8 sophomore was averaging 2.2 points and 3.0 rebounds in 13 minutes per game.
McLean will undergo surgery soon, and begin rehab after. He is expected to be healthy for the start of the 2012-13 season.
