Cougars add LaGrone to recruiting class

The Cougars continued adding to their defense, getting a verbal commitment from linebacker/safety Thaddeus LaGrone.

LaGrone, a high two-star recruit according to both Rivals and ESPN, decommitted from Baylor in November. LaGrone told ESPN.com’s Damon Sayles in November that he decided to leave Baylor because they planned on using him as just a nickel back and he preferred a larger role playing both linebacker and safety.

LaGrone (6-2, 193 pounds) has good size for both positions and runs a 4.5 40-time. He could be an asset as a linebacker in coverage situations.

LaGrone attended Allen High School and helped them advance to the area round of the state playoffs.

LaGrone also received offers from Michigan State, Iowa State, Navy and Nevada.

Before initially committing to Baylor, LaGrone was also pursued by Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Iowa and TCU.
