UH offense anemic vs. Temple, lose 11th straight

UH wasn’t able to contend with Temple, as it lost 79-46 at Hofheinz Pavilion, giving the team its 11th straight lost and remain winless in the American Athletic Conference.

Senior forward Te’ Onna Campbell and sophomore forward Marche Amerson led the team with nine points each. Senior forward Destini Texada almost had a double double, scoring eight points and grabbing a team-high eight rebounds.

The Cougars, once again struggled to score, as they shot only 33 percent from the field, compared to the Owls’ 57.3.

The game got away from UH early, as Temple’s strong offensive output, which included an array of 3-pointers, quickly jumped to a 24 point lead in the first half.

The largest run UH made was after an 8-0 cut the lead to 20 in the middle of the second half. But Temple responded by finishing the contest on a 24-11 run.

The Cougars turned it over 18 times, which translated into 25 points.

The second chance points was the only department that the Cougars won, outscoring the Owls, 9-6.
