Exhibition: The Blaffer Art Museum will present “Tears and Politics: Works by Phil Collins and Christian Jankowski” from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. until March 15. Collins’ “soy mi madre” and Jankowski’s “Crying for the March of Humanity” celebrate the telenovela by using the Hispanic medium to discuss immigration, class, race, arts, politics and more.
Exhibition: Eleven local, national and international artists will come together to present workshops, readings and performances with “Antena @ Blaffer” at the Blaffer Art Museum from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. until May 10.
Workshops: Open to all students, faculty and staff, UH Libraries is offering courses on computer programs and software for free. The workshops will teach 15 people per session on a first-come, first-served basis from 10 a.m. to noon at the Learning Commons Training Area at the M.D. Anderson Memorial Library.
Social: Graduate students can enjoy snacks and wine and meet their subject librarians at the Graduate Student Mixer from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Elizabeth D. Rockwell Pavilion on the second floor of the M.D. Anderson Memorial Library.

Lecture: Avi Goldfarb will speak at the Marketing Research Seminar Series from 10:30 a.m. to noon at 365B Melcher Hall.
Baseball: The Cougars will face off against Nicholls State at Cougar Field from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets are free for UH students, $8 for general admission and $6 for youth.
Lecture: Canadian singer Gordon Lightfoot will perform from 8 to 10:30 p.m. at Cullen Performance Hall. Tickets are $59.50, with a $10 discount for students and employees.
