Senior center Yasmeen Thompson earned her third conference honor roll selection of the season this week. She averaged 11.5 rebounds in games against Memphis and Temple last Saturday and Monday.
On senior day vs. Memphis, Thompson grabbed a team-high eight rebounds in 28 minutes.
Thompson had a homecoming to remember on Monday in the Cougars’ regular season finale at Temple. She grabbed a season-high and game-best 15 rebounds while scoring 10 points to secure her team-leading sixth double-double of the season. She also collected a team-high three steals.
Thompson hopes to keep her solid play going this weekend, when the Cougars match up against the Memphis Tigers for the second time in the last six days. They will play in the first round of the inaugural American Athletic Conference Tournament starting Friday at the Mohegan Sun Arena.
