Man sentenced after impersonating UHPD officer

A Houston man has been sentenced to six months in jail for impersonating a UH Police Department officer in February, KHOU reported Wednesday.

A woman pulled into a campus parking lot at 2:50 a.m. Feb. 7 and was approached by Norwood Joseph Johnson, who told her she was not allowed to park in that spot. He told her he was a UHPD officer and demanded her keys.

When Johnson pretended to call in her license plate number, the woman called the police and reported the incident.

Johnson confessed to police and pleaded guilty to impersonating a public servant.
