Junior Elena Kordolaimi received the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week award Tuesday.
Kordolaimi received the team’s fourth weekly conference honor of the season. Freshman Despoina Vogasari has claimed the award three separate times for the Cougars this year.
Kordolaimi went 4-0 last week and picked up two singles and two doubles victories against Louisiana Tech and at conference rival SMU.
She earned a dominating 6-3, 6-2 victory Friday over Louisiana Tech’s Marta Sramkova before taking down SMU’s Hristina Dishkova 6-2, 6-4 and helped the team earn its first win over SMU since 1998.
Kordolaimi owns a 13-5 overall singles record this season. She has posted an 8-4 singles mark during dual play this year. She ranks second on the team in doubles victories with 12.
