Both UH women’s relay teams finished in sixth place in the finals during the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Saturday afternoon in Austin.
The men’s 4×200-meter relay team finished with a sixth place time of 1:23.74, winning heat one. The women’s team finished sixth as well, with a time of 1:35.57. The last time the women’s team ran in the 4×200-meter was in 2011.
The UH women placed fourth in the 4×100-meter relay with a season-best time of 44.22. The time is the seventh-fastest time in the nation.
The women’s 4×400-meter relay also finished sixth in the competition with a time of 3:39.60. During prelims, the squad ran a 3:36.31, the fastest time of the season, and was third in the nation.
Freshman William Gibbs was the only individual to make the finals, with a recorded time of 14.22 during the 110-meter hurdles, his second-best time of the season. Gibbs ran a 14.01 during the prelims and tied for 13th-best in the nation.
