UNLV added to 2015 schedule
UH added a third FBS opponent to its schedule by booking UNLV this season on Saturday, Sept. 20. This will move the Cougars’ matchup with Tennessee Tech from Sept. 27 to Sept. 5.
“Adding a third FBS opponent was a priority for our program as it relates to the strength of schedule component of the new College Football Playoff,” said Mack Rhoades, vice president for intercollegiate athletics.
UH has met UNLV on two occasions, with the Cougars winning both matchups.
Houston still has one more 2015 non-conference slot to fill in their schedule with the move of the Tennessee Tech game.
“We always look to schedule two opponents from major conferences each season, one home and one away as part of home-and-home agreements, a third FBS team as part of a home-and-home agreement and an FCS opponent for a home game,” Rhoades said.
The kickoff time of this game will be announced by Sept. 8.
