The Cougars finished off their 2014 fall ball preseason play strong Tuesday night with a doubleheader against Blinn and came out on top of the Buccaneers in both games.

Each team played strong all around, but the Cougar defense remained tight throughout both games, proving difficult for the Buccaneers to come out on top.

Offensively the Cougars have shown promising signs in both of their preseason doubleheaders as they have won every game so far by at least eight runs. The downside to the large victories is that the team has made some mistakes at bat, something head coach Kyla Holas looks to continue working on through the rest of the Cougars’ offseason.

The Cougars will start their regular season off with the Sand Dollar Classic being held in Gulf Shores, Alabama Feb. 5-8 and come back home to battle it out with Northern Iowa, McNeese State, Stephen F. Austin and others in the Houston Hilton Plaza Invitational Feb. 13-15.
