The Cougars are set to take on the Memphis Tigers this Wednesday and are looking to make a change from their current style of play.

The Cougars are presently on a nine-game losing streak after picking up their first conference win against the SMU Mustangs. One of the nine losses includes the Cougars’ 84-49 blowout loss to the Tigers, a blemish the Cougars look to erase this Wednesday.

The Cougars will face the Tigers in the Hofheinz Pavilion coming off of a late-game rally that fell just short of the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Junior guard Alecia Smith walked away from the 67-51 loss with a team-leading 14, accompanied by 11 points from Bianca Winslow and Marche’ Amerson’s 10.

Showing strong individual efforts in the Cougars’ recent games has supplied the team with what it needs to stay in the game, but playing together will be what could turn the struggling Cougars around.

The Cougars will look to snap their nine-game losing streak during their matchup with Tigers at 7 p.m. Wednesday — their last home appearance before a two-game road trip.
