Frontier Fiesta, scheduled to take place March 26 through 28 at TDECU Stadium, will impact parking majorly in the weeks leading up to the annual event.
Three phases of parking lot closures will take place, with Phase 1 closing parking lot 11A at 10 p.m. on March 13, Phase 2 closing a section of parking lot 12A on March 18 at 10 p.m. and phase 3 closing down the rest of 12A.
The Stadium Parking Garage will open for visitors at 5 p.m. on March 26, which Parking and Transportation said will cause a heavier flow of traffic.
“Parking and Transportation Services is working closely with the committee to ensure everything is carried out correctly and successfully,” Parking and Transportation Services director Bob Browand said in a press release.
“Fiesta City,” an area where student organizations will hold variety shows, barbecue cook-offs and carnival booths, will be held in these lots throughout Frontier Fiesta.
Parking and Transportation recommends utilizing the ERP and availability in parking lots 8A and 9C, located closest to Interstate 45, in order to ease traffic near Frontier Fiesta.
