According to multiple news reports, University of Houston Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Mack Rhoades will be named to the same position at the University of Missouri on Monday.

Rhoades has been with Houston since June 2009.

Rhoades has been at the head of the developing Cougar sports programs, including the hiring of championship coaches in football head coach of Tom Herman and men’s basketball head coach Kelvin Sampson, the TDECU Stadium construction and future plans for Hofheinz Pavilion.

“It’s disappointing,” said Tilman Fertitta, chairman of the UH system board of regents, in an interview with FOX26 Sports. “We feel like Mack was a top-notch A.D. and we’re disappointed.”

Rhoades will replace Mike Alden, Missouri’s athletics director for the past 17 years.
