After approval from the Board of Regents and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, a new B.A. in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies will be added to the UH curriculum.
Students who are currently in the Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies concentration as a minor will have the opportunity to complete a degree-completion option in order to transfer into the new major.
“As gender roles shift quickly in all professions and realms of private and public life and the contributions of women and people of diverse sexualities are increasingly recognized and valued, a major that prepares graduates to ably negotiate these changes provides an important groundwork for success, for both students and the community,” said Director of the Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies program Elizabeth Gregory in a UH press release.
Universities such as Texas A&M University, the University of Texas and Rice University also have similar majors.
The first graduates of the Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies major are expected to graduate Spring 2018.
Great, more majors with no job prospects.
HOMOPHOBE
Clearly you are not able to articulate an intelligent thought. Must be in one of those dead-end majors.
Maybe the goal is to provide a few jobs to academics with no other job prospects.
