After winning two weekend series at home, including a sweep of the Cincinnati Bearcats, the Cougars are hitting the road again for four games, starting with a midweek match-up against the McNeese State Cowboys on Tuesday.

The Cougars are coming off a dominant three-game sweep over the Bearcats to move them to 7-5 in American Athletic Conference play and give them their fourth weekend sweep of the 2015 season. The Cougars have now won six of their nine series played this year and have high numbers carrying them into their game against the Cowboys.

The Cougars have a conference-leading home run hitter in junior first baseman Chris Iriart as he took the top spot with his 13th homer on Sunday. Over the three games against the Bearcats, junior catcher Jacob Campbell drove in nine runs to lead the team in RBI for the weekend, and the three starting pitchers combined for 30 strikeouts and one earned run.

The Cougars ride this hot streak into Lake Charles, La. where they will face a Cowboy pitching staff with a combined ERA of 3.53. The Cowboys have allowed 42 errors over 39 games, however, so the McNeese defense will have to step up if they want to stop the hot bats of the Cougars.

First pitch is set for 6 p.m. on Tuesday as the Cougars look to pick up their 27th win overall against their non-conference opponent.
