Rounding out the day for the Cougars in the draft was junior outfielder Kyle Survance, who was selected by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the eighth round.
The last time Houston had three or more players drafted in the first ten rounds was in 2003, when five Cougars went on the first day.
The draft will close on Wednesday with rounds 11-40.
