Adding to his list of pre-season recognitions, senior running back Kenneth Farrow was named to the watch list for the Doak Walker Award on Thursday.
The Doak Walker Award is given yearly to the top running back in the NCAA, as determined by the National Selection Committee, and this is the second straight year Farrow has been named to the watch list.
This is the second award watch list Farrow has been named to before the 2015-2016 season, as he is also named to the Maxwell Award Watch List, which honors the nation’s top offensive player.
Farrow was also named to The American Athletic Conference Preseason First Team by Phil Steele and Athlon prior to this coming season.
Last season, Farrow was honored as a member of the 2014 American Athletic Conference Second Team, after leading the conference in total touchdowns with 15 touchdowns.
Farrow was second in the AAC in rushing with 1,037 yards, while leading the league with seven games where he rushed for at least 100 yards.
Following the Cougars’ comeback win over Pittsburgh in the Armed Forces Bowl, Farrow was named as the MVP of the game, as he rushed for 103 yards on 22 attempts for two touchdowns, and caught two passes for 42 yards.
Farrow is one of four Cougars to be honored as part of an award watch list this preseason, and he is the third to be named to multiple lists.
