As the Cougars prepare for the North Texas Invitational, they’ll be looking to  continue the success they’ve exhibited so far.

The Cougars have amassed a 5-1 record so far this season, capturing the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Tournament in the process.

There have been numerous bright spots so far this season for UH, one of which is freshman outside hitter Brookah Palmer.

Palmer is the team-leading attacker for the Cougars this season, with 110 kills in six matches, averaging 4.78 kills-per-set.

The defense has also been strong this season, as the Cougars have recorded 44 team blocks, with senior Courtney Smith leading the way with 20.

In the first match of the North Texas Invitational, the Cougars will face off the Abilene Christian University Wildcats.

The Wildcats are off to a rough start this season, posting a winless record in their first six matches.

The Cougars will be hoping to continue their strong play and potentially capture another tournament title in their last away invitational of the year.

The Cougars and Wildcats will tip off at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday in Denton.
