The Cougars are preparing for their first conference test of the season when they will welcome the East Carolina University Pirates on Thursday night.
UH wrapped up their out-of-conference season with four wins and four losses, a three-win improvement over their record from the entirety of last season.
While the season started off rough for the Cougars, losing three straight matches to begin the year, the Cougars bounced back to win four of their last five contests, including a 4-1 record at home.
On their current three-game win streak, the team shut out the opponent each game, outscoring their opposition by a nine goals to none.
The Pirates roll in Houston holding a 5-4-1 overall record, and the Cougars will be looking to capture their first conference win since joining the American Athletic Conference.
Three Cougars are tied for the scoring lead on the team. Freshman Desiree Bowen, sophomore Selena Peters and senior Lexa Green all have contributed three goals this year, with Peters and Green each adding an assist to their totals.
The Cougars and Pirates are set to kickoff the action at 7 p.m., on Thursday evening at Carl Lewis Field.
