UH will provide free HBO Go access for all students living on campus, according to Susan Kimbrough, the Associate Director of Residential Life. Students could start accessing the service on Tuesday.
Through this television network, student have access “to all (student’s) favorite HBO shows, hit movies, sports, comedy and more plus bonus features and behind-the-scenes extras,” according to HBO’s website.
“That’s great. Now, I can watch Game of Thrones everywhere,” biology freshman Priscilla Rodriguez said.
Reactions of UH residents have been overwhelmingly positive.
“It’s convenient. I pirate most of my shows, but now I don’t need to waste space on my hard drive,” electrical engineering freshman Rajiv Ajodha said.
For some students, an alternative to the UH’s network, Philo TV program, makes quite a difference.
“For residents in Cougar Village and other residences it provides yet another opportunity — besides the Philo program here at UH — to provide (television) and entertainment to students who can’t afford it,” computer science freshman Josh Davis said.
