A public viewing and funeral times have been set for legendary Cougar head coach Guy V. Lewis, who died last Thursday.

Lewis was the architect of many of the best years in UH men’s basketball history, including the Phi Slama Jama years.

A public viewing is set for Wednesday, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on campus at the A.D. Bruce Religion Center, to honor the late coach.

The Cougars will also honor Lewis and his family during halftime at their game on Wednesday night, with a special video memorial.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church. Lewis’ family has requested that all those who attend the funeral to please wear red.

At 1 p.m. on Thursday, a reception will be held for family members, friends and former players of Lewis’ in the John O’Quinn Great Hall inside the Athletics/Alumni Center on the first floor.
