Fall Finals Edition Special Section

Need to study? We’ve got a playlist for that

This next week is going to be tough. You are going to lose some sleep and cry, but most of all, you will study. Here’s some music to help you make it through that 48-hour push to study for that last final.

st. vincentSt. Vincent – “Cruel”: So, I can’t be 100 percent sure, but this is probably what’s going through the mind of every professor when they’re writing their finals.

Washed Out – “Don’t Give Up”: You may feel like 12 hours of Netflix is more productive than 12 hours of studying, but just power through, and don’t give up.

A Great Big Pile of Leaves – “Snack Attack”: This is a pretty good recommendation of how to break up the monotony of burying your nose in the books. Kick back, grab a Snickers, and nom your way to an A.

Toro y Moi – “Cola”: I don’t even have anything funny to say about this one, it’s just a really good song.

Jimi Hendrix – “The Wind Cries Mary”: While the wind may cry Mary, you may be crying mercy. Take heart, the end is near.

marvinMarvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell – “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”: Sure, you may have left a lot of work until the end of the semester, but Marvin Gaye is behind you, and he believes in you.

Weezer – “El Scorcho”: Because the end of the year has us all feeling a little angsty.

Jackson 5 – “I Want You Back”: An ode for all those missed classes you just wish you could get back. Don’t worry, you’ll be better next semester.

OK Go – “Needing/Getting”: You might be hoping for an A in that class you stopped showing up to halfway through the year, but, as the band says, “Needing is one thing, but getting’s another.”

Bahamas – “All the Time”: This one’s for walking out of that last final, head held high. Come hell or retaking a course, you’re done for about a month. And now, you’ve got all the time in the world.
