The American Athletic Conference announced the 2016 Football schedule today. The AAC Champions begin their defending season against the 2015 College Football Playoff semifinalist University of Oklahoma at NRG Stadium on Sept. 3.
The Cougars are scheduled to play on three nationally televised Thursday games.
On Sept. 15, Houston will take on division rival the University of Cincinnati.
On Sept. 29, the Cougars will have the opportunity to avenge their only loss of the 2015 season when they take on the University of Connecticut at home.
And on Nov. 17, the Cougars rematch the University of Louisville in a game that arguably set the tone for the Cougars in 2015. All three games will be televised on ESPN.

Sept. 10 – Lamar University
Sept. 15 – at University of Cincinnati
Sept. 24 – at Texas State University
Sept. 29 – University of Connecticut
Oct. 8 – at United States Naval Academy
Oct. 15 – University of Tulsa
Oct. 22 – at Southern Methodist University
Oct. 29 – University of Central Florida
Nov. 12 – Tulane University
Nov. 17 – University of Louisville
Nov. 25 – at University of Memphis
Kickoff times for the first three weeks of the season will be determined by mid-June. Kickoff times will be set by conference TV partners 12 days out (six days out in limited instances) for the rest of the games.
