After a close loss at the hands of the conference-leading Temple University Owls, the Cougar men’s basketball team hits the road for their second-to-last away game of the regular season against the University of Central Florida Knights.
UH has been on a late-season surge recently, having won six of its last eight games, and is looking to continue climbing in the American Athletic Conference rankings.
The Cougars currently sit sixth in the AAC, but with three games left, they have a chance to climb higher in the rankings, with two of their final three games coming against teams currently above them in the standings.
Despite their latest loss, the Cougars have still improved exponentially from last season, with a 19-8 record overall and a 9-6 record in the AAC – their best conference record in the past five seasons.
The Cougars have a chance to earn a season sweep against the Knights after ringing up a 24-point win over the team on Feb. 13.
With just three games left, UH will be looking to shift momentum in their favor heading into the AAC Tournament, while hoping to make a run at a conference title.
UH and UCF tip off at 6 p.m. on Wednesday in Orlando, Fla before the Cougars head to Storrs, Conn. for a matchup with the University of Connecticut Huskies.
