Expect Frontier Fiesta, scheduled for March 24-26, to be even bigger this year with its live concerts, variety shows and a barbecue cook-off, but also expect some parking issues.
The annual event will take place around the TDECU Stadium, so parking lots in the area have been blocked off as early as two weeks before the event to allow for construction of the festival space to begin, according to Parking and Transportation services.
Event coordinators plan to utilize the Stadium Parking Garage for event visitors starting at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
Students, faculty and staff who have a permit for the garage will still be able to access the lot but should expect some heavy traffic getting there until Frontier Fiesta packs up on Saturday evening.
All affected lots will reopen on Monday.
During the weekend, everyone is encouraged to park in surface lots 8A, 9B, 9C and ERP or take some sort of public transportation.
